Project Hi-Lites   Stated CALTRANS purpose and design of the project: To build a continuous four to six lane expressway between Pigeon Pass and the I-580. The added capacity on SR 84 is expected to attract more regional traffic to SR 84 and reduce congestion on I-680 and I-580. Daily traffic to increase to 60,000 vehicles including 5400 semi-trucks (4 truckcs/Min) The roadway consist of 12-foot travel lanes, 10-foot shoulders, and a 22-foot concrete median. Retaining walls upto 4 feet and sound walls upto 6 foot high (At Ruby Hills Tennis court and recreation center) blocking exisiting visual views. 3.2 acres of Conservancy lands affected include one parcel that is protected by the agricultural conservation easement held by the Tri-Valley Conservancy and the City of Livermore Distace between power lines and some homes may be reduced
